The DeLand Area Cruisers, a local hot-rod and custom car club, holds a wonderful car show on the third Saturday of every month in Downtown DeLand. For their January 20 show they have invited the Florida Citrus Region PCA to participate by bringing our Porsches to the show along side their classic, hot rod, stock restorations and vintage race cars. All years and models are welcome, and you do not need to be a PCA member to participate! We are members of this great group and participate in the monthly shows almost every month with Sparky, our 97 924S!
The show will be on January 20, Saturday, beginning around 3:00 and going until about 6 or so. There will be a special place for our Porsches. The show is always a ton of fun with vendors, a DJ, and a ton of great downtown restaurants within a block or two of the show.
Space is limited to 35 Porsches, although the show regularly draws 50-80 cars of all descriptions. There is a $10 registration fee that will be donated to the DeLand Area Cruisers to help with the costs associated with running the show, including getting help from the DeLand Main Street Association and the city of DeLand. Bring chairs for lounging, a cooler with beverages and walking shoes for exploring wonderful downtown DeLand.
There is a rumor that the January show will feature a “line dancing contest.” Not much info on that, but stay tuned. Let’s show off our great cars in a great little downtown, voted as one of the best downtowns in the country! In June of 2017, the small town of DeLand was named the best downtown in the nation in America’s Main Street competition!
