The Florida Citrus Region Porsche Club of America (FCR), based in the Orlando area, holds its monthly meetings on the first Monday of the month. Normally meetings take place at the Porsche Dealership in Maitland, but for November, the meeting was moved to Orlando Brewing in downtown Orlando. It’s not a large venue, with the meeting and most socializing taking place outside in the parking lot – with the Porsches.
The FCR has over a thousand members who could attend, bringing something north of six hundred Porsches to any event. Monthly meetings usually bring fifty or more together, and this night was no exception. With parking at a premium at Orlando Brewing, members were tasked to carefully line up the cars to make room for as many as possible.
Then Sparky arrived.
While we have many members with cars like ours, they don’t tend to make membership meetings. Instead, those with 911’s, Caymans and Boxsters dominate. So after parking Sparky, I found this photo to be quite interesting…
Which one of these is not like the others?
The Florida Citrus Region is hosting a charity rally to honor our veterans on Sunday, November 11 to coincide with Veteran’s Day. This charity rally starts with a rally tour through Central Florida, terminating at the Al-Marah Arabian horse stables in Lake County. This is significant for this reason – the stables will provide a horse-riding demonstration by Horses and Hero’s, an organization that assists veterans suffering from PTSD and helps them re-enter civilian life.
In addition to helping Horses and Hero’s, additional support will be provided to the Honor Flights and for scholarships for veterans for the Associate in Arts Equine Management Program at Al-Marah stables.
Our PCA region, like most others, creates and participates in benefit events for local charities all year ’round. being a member of the Florida Citrus Region means being able to participate and support these charities while having a great time with our Porsche friends. So will you be there with your 944?
