We took Sparky (the 924S944.com mascot Porsche) to the ACE Cafe in Orlando for a Saturday Morning “Cars and Coffee” event. The event was hosted by Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, with Don Swift of Hagerty in attendance. Over thirty cars arrived between eight and nine, with coffee, breakfast and nice cars all around.
Sparky was parked next to the front door next to Nort Northam‘s 1970 Dino 246L – yes, a “real” Dino. This one was built with an alloy body (instead of steel, hence the “L” designation for “Light”), the 2.4L 195HP V6 was fully restored in the past few years. Very nice car in the half-million-dollar range.
Also in attendance were Camaros, Challengers, other Porsches, Corvettes, a couple of street rods, a Triumph TR-6, a Delorean and a deTomaso Pantera. Like I said – nice cars.
My favorites were a VW bug from 1966 and a VW dual cab truck. Again, nice stuff.
Cars and Coffee for Sparky was an experience. There were plenty of comments centered around having a 924S or 944 in the past, how great they were, and how nice Sparky looked. A few shared the quote, “I had one of these and I should have never have sold it.”
Yea, we know.
Check out a Cars and Coffee near you with your prized 924, 924S or 944!
