924S944.com has been around for many years. I retired from my real career in 2018, and now in 2025 it is time for me to actually retire. I am not going away – far from it. And in case you’re wondering I am in good health as is my wife and family. Nothing like that. It is just time to stop the seven-days-a-week and go to a simpler, more sedate and relaxing point in our lives.
The fact is that I have enough ongoing projects to last the rest of the year. But I will not endeavor to keep the “business” going in the 924s and 944 world. I want to work on my own projects, travel a bit and try to slow down and enjoy our retirement time. I hope you understand.
So in the works are a few things that will happen in 2025.
- We have two more 924S Special Editions that will hit the streets for sale this year. Both are considered to be restorations – not concours, but as-delivered cars. Original (replica) grey fabric interior, etc.
- I will have a 1988 924S with low miles that I will make into a great driver for someone.
- I will. have a 1987 Carrera GT tribute that will be completed and for sale. That car may go to 944Fest this year and will be for sale.
- I have a 924S Special Edition that will be restored to “driver quality.” The trick is that this one is an automatic, and yes, they can be pretty horrible, but how many did Porsche make? A couple dozen? (If you know, let me know!) I may keep this one.
- I have a 1986 944 that will get the full 924S944.com treatment and make someone a great driver.
- I have two additional 924S Special Editions that are in complete running condition, although they are not “Special Edition Complete.” They will probably be sold at quite a discount to help clear out the lot.
- I have cars what have been stripped and will go to their final sacrifice to the crusher, along with a few that I will sell as parts cars. (Everything that I have has a Florida title in my name.)
- I have other non-Porsche projects to complete.
- In case you’re wondering, Sparky is doing well and remain in my possession until I can no longer drive or breathe.
BUT then there will be a real-live Garage Sale. Sometime – probably in the fall – I will have a multi-day sale at the shop to prune down the parts supplies that I have accumulated – and free up some room in the shop. How many intake manifolds, bumpers, hoods, doors, wheels, interior pieces and fenders do I need? The garage sale will feature parts in bundles, so watch for an announcement and be here to get some really great bargains – no reasonable offer refused.
The online store at 924S944.STORE will close soon. We will still be available for parts sales though. Just email or call at 386.547.9625.

We will still be here to answer your questions, help with parts needs and support this fine community of misfits. Again, not going anywhere, just going to change direction and relax – oh, yea, and play with the new kitten Baylee.
Is it in me to relax? We shall see.
Thanks to everyone for their support and help over these many years. And see you at VIR on Labor Day Weekend for 944Fest 2025.

Sadly, “All Good Things Must Come to an End” is now the rule, not the exception. More and more of the “Old School” experts and craftsman that for decades have produced, repaired and modified our precious collectables, (at least to us) are slowly fading into the sunset.
The biggest regret is that in many cases, the younger generation has little or no interest in preserving or learning these trades. It’s too bad that they will never learn or experience the satisfaction of the “hands on” completion of a project that requires 100 percent physical, mental and personal involvement to complete.
Many of us, me included, enjoy the personal relationship we have with our own piece of history and while we enjoy the occasional DIY foray, we rely on and value the special abilities, experience and expert advice that people like our 924S/944 guru Kevin, bring to the table. It’s a special and rare trait people like him have. There is an old Scottish phrase that has been adopted by the military Special Forces that is applicable here as well…” To Us and Those Like Us, Damn Few, and they are all dying” ( the art, not Kevin, ha ha)
