Finally!  A local PCA Tour Event that invites and encourages transaxle cars to be at the front of the pack!  This event will showcase the “Heritage” Porsches with primary emphasis on our transaxles!  So get registered and be there!

Florida Citrus Region PCA is sponsoring a special tour to celebrate Porsche’s strong driving heritage!  Please join us. We will depart from Porsche of South Orlando (4895 Vineland Rd., Orlando) at 9:00 am December 5. Come a bit early to register and enjoy fellow Porsche friends.

The Cars
“Heritage” applies to both the featured cars as well as the venue. We honor our Porsche lineage with this special drive featuring classic Transaxle cars (924, 944, 968, and 928), and Air-cooled cars 356, 912, 914, and the classic 911 (1989 and earlier).

And as a way to encourage participation for a frequently underrepresented group of cars, priority registration will be given to our classic transaxle cars (924, 944, 968, and 928). Drivers of modern cars should not despair, we may add a limited number of groups if space allows.

The (New) People
Additionally, you may have read in the July Panorama magazine about young Porsche owners in a series of articles that were devoted to these new enthusiasts and their P-cars. In keeping with that theme we are seeing more young people today discovering the beauty and performance of transaxle and air-cooled Porsches and want to especially invite your participation.

The Venue
We will drive into “old Florida”, near the town of Inverness. We will have a No Host lunch at a nearby “old Florida” restaurant, Fisherman’s Restaurant. A former fish camp, Fisherman’s offers both indoor and outdoor seating with appropriate social distancing of the tables. (And their desserts are scrumptious!) Please indicate your interest in dining with us below, so we can get a rough head count

After lunch, we can board an airboat for an optional hour-long airboat excursion on the north-flowing Withlacoochee River. You will see all kinds of wildlife and magnificent views of Florida as it used to be. The airboats are piloted by licensed captains using Coast Guard inspected boats. (This same venue was used in an episode of America’s Got Talent). We have negotiated a group rate of $32 for the airboat tour, please prepay when you register.

It’s Not Just the (Classic) Cars, It’s the People (And Maybe A Few Alligators)!
